11Meet Trish, she is the gorgeous girl behind the sweet-smelling deliciousness that is Principessa.

Not only is Principessa Italian-o inspired, and I LOVE me all things Italian-o, it has the prettiest packaging a girly-girl could wish for and the smell? Well, I know I’m meant to be good with the words and all, but when it comes to Principessa prodz, there is only one – dee-vine.

I desperately want to know what makes the prodz smell so amazing but Trish isn’t telling…

“…With Principessa, I’ve created a signature scent that is exquisitely sheer, soft, sweet, sexy, and secret; formulas that will leave your skin feeling luxuriously silky wrapped in packaging designed for the feminine and whimsical urban princess…”

    Bella, bella!

    chalkboard

I am in total heart-thumpin’ love with the concept of life being a whole lot of lessons to help me learn, grow and be…well, kick-ass and awesome.

I know the importance of taking lessons from my own messy and stressy situations – even if sometimes it’s a really, really hard thing to do, I devour biographies so that I can live and learn from the lessons of my most favourite leading ladies and I store quotes in my journal like, “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible!’” that I then repeat like a mantra when life gets a little too real life-y.

I sound positively virtuous, don’t I? Like I’ve got it all completely figured out – c’mon, I am a life coach y’know, it would be rude and wrong if I didn’t have life pretty much in the bag, wouldn’t it? Now, it’s super-cool when you know what you’re supposed to do, I’ve got a vanity case – pink, natch – of tools and techniques that I know will sprinkle my world with glitter and sparkle, that will make life as sweet-as-sugar – if only I actually used them. Y’see, the magic, the really, really good stuff, can only happen when you do the learning, engage in it and fall head over Westwood’s in love with it. It’s like having the most kick-ass beauty kit that guarantees to create the most sparkly-gorgeous face of wonder and delight, and then never, ever using it. Now that would be just plain silly, right?

I am a tattoo obsess-o-girl. There’s not an episode of LA Ink that I haven’t seen and Kat Von D is most deffo my home girl. I’ve got just the two – one on my foot and one on my wrist, and I heart them both equally, but truth be told, if I was less chicken, I’d be inked to within an inch of my life, ‘cept I am. Chicken that is. Which is why Corissa is now my new homegirl.

Corissa is the uber-talent behind Wicked Minky, a beyond-awesome online shop selling Corissa’s tattoo-inspired jewellery. If you’re not able to commit to permanent ink, then like me, you’ll do star-jumps and happy dances when you discovered this store – I want EVERY single item, but will settle for a day of the dead skull necklace, or an over-sized rose ring, or  maybe a Daniel Day Lewis style moustache or…like I said, I want everything.

    perfect

Ohhh, I’m a little bit in heart with Ms Veve.

I know I say that ALL the time, but she’s like this kick-ass, tattoo-ed rock girl who resides in one of my fave cities in the world, Prague and writes in your face fashion, a blogginz all about her fab life, haircuts and love o’ fashion. She’s far too cool for school and is so freakin’ fabulous that she should be on the cover of Nylon magazine or something.

    Yeah, I’ve got a girl crush, ‘k?

Sex and The City. Lipstick Jungle. Cashmere Mafia. Desperate Housewives. The most popular TV programmes for our demographic – successful, sassy and stylish female characters, jam-packed with hot male counterparts, dream jobs, fabulous parties and nice big houses, as well as adorable children. Add to this, our heroines who are usually neurotically flawed yet uber-glamourous in Phillip Lim and Jimmy Choos, not to mention working perfect manicures, a range of hairstyles (mine does straight or curly for work) and a figure that most of us can only achieve by spending days in the gym.

So, this horizontal jogging (and I ain’t talking about sex here – but add that into to the list above – just how achievable is it and is it really something to aim for? To quote Ms. Carrie Bradshaw herself; “Can We Have It All?”

noella-gabriel-approved-8Welcome to Beauty Queen, our new sassy segment showcasing our favourite grown-up girls talking about beauty and what beauty means to them.

We kick off this week with Director of Product and Treatment Development at one of SM’s most favourite brands, Elemis. Meet Noella Gabriel, we totally want her job right now.

Noella, what is it you do?
As Director of Product and Treatment Development at Elemis my role involves using my expertise to devise spa-therapies and then using this as a platform inspiration for new product development.

How did you get involved in the beauty industry and what do you love most about it?

I trained in Ireland over 27 years ago and opened my own salon in Cork before moving to London to work as a beauty therapist.  My real drive started when I moved to New York to learn about holistic therapy where I studied Shiatsu, Reflexology and Aromatherapy for three years.

I love that I have the opportunity to make a change to someone’s beauty regime and create products that fit their lifestyle.  We are lucky to have sourced amazing new ingredients to produce results-driven products that has led to many award-winning status accolades.

What’s your secret to being beautiful?
To massage your face when you’re in the bath.  Use a warm compress on your face and apply a light oil.  Gently massage your face with your fingertips.  Finally apply a mask – ideally one that can be left on overnight.

What’s your favourite Elemis prod and why?
Pro-Collagen Marine Cream because it delivers what it promises, it meets my skin’s needs and my make-up sits neatly and comfortably all day long

What do you love most about being a woman, right now?
Having the choice and permission to be myself and fulfill my dreams.

    What’s your greatest achievement?
Having Kate and being a mother.

    Your biggest lesson?
People never surprise me.  Managing people is the greatest challenge in this industry.

Five must-have items that you could not live without?
Guitar, books, Elemis Wrinkle Smooth Pen, my blackberry and my PA

What’s your advice for being successful?
    Never stop learning…

    Quick fire round: What’s you’re favourite…
