I was walking in my ‘hood yesterday in a Miami Vice meets Chanel ensemble – think stripe boat top, tulip mini and white linen jacket with gold pearl jewellery, with Ms L who was working a tattooed Heidi Seeker cardigan, black dress and pink hair foliage, when out of a passing car came “OI OI SWEETHEARTS!” Needless to say, we both laughed at this, uhm, gesture and agreed it was decidedly better than the unintelligible “AWIGHT!” that was shouted at us half-hour previously. We then broke into a Sex And The City style convo about the art of the chat-up, or to Americanise, the pick-up.

Not only does Calypso have the coolest name in the whole wide world, she’s created quite possibly the coolest prod in the whole wide world too – the Clippy bag.

    rmp_sm-bag-pink-trim-and-lining-email

This is the super-cute pink, pimped up version that I absolutely WANT. NEED. MUST HAVE.

Isn’t it awesome? Calypso designed the original so she could display her collection of Polaroid photographs in bag-form, except lots and lots of people stopped her in the street wanting to know where it was from. So, she put 250 bags into production. She customised a large bag with a sign saying ‘stop me and buy one’ and hired a stall on the Portobello Road, London. She sold all the bags in the first month – that minxes, makes her a rockstar. Fact.

While I continue to drool over my new favourite thing – seriously, look at it, it’s pretty x 100, isn’t it? – meet the lady behind the label and get totally inspired by her Sassy List – it’s a good one, minxes!

I was in Londinium yesterday, and let me tell you, it was HOT in the city and there was a tube strike and it was, well…pretty icksville. I’m not good in the heat, that’s why I live by the sea, but I had a meeting with a video camera at my publisher – please, don’t ask – and I needed prodz that would make my on-screen debut look like I embraced the summer and that  sunshine was my friend…

    Enter Boots No7.

Ahhhh, No7, how I love thee. Especially when you create prodz that make me look sun-kissed and summer-like and not a big sweaty mess – hurrah!
    1

NEW FAVOURITE NAIL COLOUR ALERT: Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Fuschia Pink, 4ml, £6. OHMYSTARS, will you just look at it?! How purr-ity is it? I have it on now as I type, and just looking at my nails flick across the keyboard in their pink, shiny prettiness makes me happy. The colour goes with everything, it looks great with a tan and c’mon, do I really have to do the hard sale? It’s the prettiest shade of pink you’ll ever see! Well, until I find another obv., I am fickle after all!
    3

I’m known for my Kelly O pale white glow, but unless you actually are Kelly O or Dita Von Teese, pale skin in the summer months can leave you looking a li’l washed out. Now, there’s no way I”ll ever expose myself to direct sunlight  – hello? Wrinkles people, wrinkles – so I’ve got myself a sun-kissed glow with No7 Gel bronzer, 30ml, £13. It contains SPF 15, is oil free and provides a shimmering sheen of colour that can be used on your face, neck and décolletage and it smells pretty too!
    6

If you prefer powder bronzers, the No7 Starfish Bronzer, £12.30 is ideal. Not only does the two tone compact has a super-cute starfish design, but it’s silky formulation is packed with vitamins to give you a beautiful healthy shimmer at the flick of a brush!

Without getting too icksville on your bee-hinds, whether you’re spending summer in the city or in an exotic locale, heat can cause all kinds of make-up slippage, and usually, in my case anyway, the first thing to go is mascara. Now, panda eyes are not a good look on anyone, well, except for pandas, obv. so I now avoid the post heat, under-eye smudge with No7 Extreme length Waterproof Mascara, 7ml, £11.80 and No7 Metallic Eye Pencils, £7.40. The mascara has a uniquely shaped brush that provides clump free, maximum length lashes and FYI: there really is no budging it, even on a hot tube with a million people trying to get home before the tube strike begins – it’s awesome!

    2

Also, big props for the fantastic eye liners that come in turquoise and green, they’re waterproof too, so whether you’re in the city or poolside sipping cocktails – jeez, I know where I’d rather be – your peepers will stay pretty and smudge- free.

All prods are available from Boots stores nationwide and online at: www.boots.com

I make no apologies for the gush-fest that is about to ensue.

If you’ve read Think Pink, you’ll know that I’m the number one fan-girl of the Amy Davis fan club. It has been this way since…well, a whole lot of a forever. She’s my gal-pal, my home girl, my mentor in all things life – seriously, once you’ve read this interview, you’ll want her to write a book on how to be as freakin’ awesome as she is, and she’s the most talented illustrator in the history of pens and paper. I mean it, there is NOTHING this girl can’t do with colouring pens. Fact.

As well as being a Sassy Minx, I’m also an author-girl who has created a series of tween/teen fiction and non-fiction books based on hipster heroine, Lola Love. Now, Lola may not be a Sassy Minx just yet, but she is feisty, fun, fearless and fabulous and has two brand-spankin’-new books Time to Shine and Li’l Miss Bliss out TODAY!

Yep, consider this a shameless plug, well… it is my blogginz, right?!! In case you know nothing ’bout Lola and her Pink Ladies, visit my author blog for all the deetz, basically they’re aimed at 9+ girls but they’re filled with fun and fabulousness for both girls and grown-up girls, promise! Now, I know I should be all about the words, what with me being the one who wrote them and all, but seriously, how cute are those freakin’ covers?!! Aren’t they just bee-yoooooou-tiful?!

    040179-fc222

    Time to Shine
Lola has snagged a role in the school musical but she’s got a serious case of tummy butterflies! Not only has she got to sing, dance and act but she also has to plant a big one on the lips of her leading man – one Mr Jake Farrell! Even with her Pink Ladies cheering her on, Lola isn’t sure she’s ready to take centre stage or get up close and personal with the object of her crushage. And when Charlie’s cutie-patootie cousin Oscar appears on the scene, things get even more confusing in Lola land.

    045738-fc222

    Li’l Miss Bliss
Lola couldn’t be happier that the Mothership is dating Bella’s pa, Yoga Dad. Or at least she thinks she couldn’t. All of a sudden, Bella has gone from Pink Lady to I-know-best-big-sort-of-sister and it’s all a little too much for Lola Love. When Yoga Dad offers to take the new family and the Pink Ladies to a super cool music festival, Lola knows she should be all kinds of excited but instead, her life starts spinning out of control. Everything is going topsy turvy – fashionista Angel is wearing wellies, sweet Sadie is away with the fairies (literally), Bella is monopolising the Mothership and Lola doesn’t know where she’s supposed fit in anymore. It looks like happy families are no easier to deal with than unhappy ones…

You can get your copies of Time to Shine and Li’l Miss Bliss – they make perfect gifts for any young feisty, fun, fearless and fabulous girl in your world, or yourself, obv. – from Amazon and Play f’sure, and if your local bookstore doesn’t have them in (shame on them!) ask them to order them for you!

Can’t wait to hear what you all think!

I am all about wonderlands -and wanderlust – and one of my most magical places of wonder is Miss Lala’s Boudoir in Primrose Hill, London.

Not only is it one of my favourites, but celebs like Scarlett Johansson, Gwen Stefani and Kate Hudson have been known to explore the pretty, pretty Aladdins cave with their celeb-like fineness too.

I literally cant stop myself from grabbing silky knicks off the main table, touching up the cashmere cardigans – so Gina Lollobrigida! – and stroking the chiffon Ell & Cee high waisted knickers. It’s a trousseau of fantastical print, babydoll colours, amourous fabrics and rockin’ rhinestones, it truly makes me want to buy EVERYTHING and wear it all while lying on a chiase longue all day eating macaroons.

Come meet the fabulous Fine Rees, the creatrix and owner of  all this beautiful loveliness…FYI: She is every bit as fabulous as you’re expecting – just read her inspir-o list and Miss La La Soundtrack listing. Le sigh.

Li’l Miss Minx, I need to apologise. I am one of those people. Those easy-breezy super-cheery, spring-outta-bed-in-the-morning type people. But just so you know, even those people, have those days. The days when even a cute brown-eyed boy wearing guyliner, an entire vat of chocolate and a back-to-back Audrey movie marathon won’t shift the cloud o’ grey from above their head.

So, what’s a girl to do?

I live in a city that is all about the navy, sailor-boys and big boats, so I’m allsorts of excited that Bobbi Brown have intro’d a bee-you-tiful summer colour collection of pretty prodz that feel like they’ve been created for life right here in Portsmouth. It’s called ‘Nautical’, and combined, these new prodz will create flushed cheeks, juicy, sheer-coloured lips, and clean defined eyes, basically, everything a girl needs to make even the cutest sailor-boy throw you a wink!
