So, a li’l while back I intro’d you to the awesome Zine queen, Eleanor Jane – remember?

Well, Girl Photographer 4, the brand-new issue of her full colour, quarter sized and 24 pages long zine is now available – woop, woop!

It’s a teeny-tiny bit smaller than usual since Miss EJ made it as part of a 24 hour zine challenge. Girl Photographer 4 features a story about  being an extremely un-corporate person attempting the early morning London commute into the heart  of Canary Wharf, reasons why she likes living alone, a pretty in depth interview she recently gave about my photography and zines, extracts from her ‘Soul Catch Fire’ project, a recipe, useless Japanese phrases she’s learnt and lovely bright happy pictures taken over the past few months – awesome sauce!

I’m not going to lie, I’m not a sporty-kind of girl. So, the idea of taking up netball, a game that brings back school memories of pleated skirts and standing around in the drizzle, did not rock my world, that was until I hooked up with top netballer, Rachel Dunn, goal shooter for the England Team and Superleague winners Team Bath.

She’s a total tour de force who promises me, that with it’s brand new rules, netball is now a fast-paced and dynamic game, which is growing in popularity and is played by over one million people in the UK. Now, if that many people are shooting hoops, then there must be something in it, right? Social netball is a fun way to get fit with your gal-pals, and a game can burn around 500 calories an hour. Shield your eyes ladies, because you are about to experience a whole lot o’ pretty. Bedcrumb is home to self-indulgent lovliness, and if you ask me, there’s nothing more fabulous than that.

Let me tell you a li’l bit about Miss Heidi, the lady behind the label – she loves colour, illustration and the mixture of old and new materials and techniques. All prints are from Heidi’s original illustrations – ohmystars, they’re pretty – and are usually of elegant and charmingly random ladies, birds & creatures. Oh, and one more thing, each Bedcrumb piece is made in the UK in Heidi’s small, busy, tune-filled studio, far away from mass production – I am in a pool of drool just looking at all the prettification, you will be too, I guarantee it.

If, like me, you’re a li’l troubled as to how particular high-street shops produce such crazy-cheap prodz, you’ll be pleased to discover MADE-BY, a not-for-profit labelling organisation for fashion brands.

It’s genius. Basically, MADE-BY works with fashion brands to improve the social and environmental aspects of their entire supply chain using a step-by-step approach – cool, huh? The blue button MADE-BY label is then used on clothing to communicate the brand’s commitment towards continuous improvement.

The awesomeness that is MADE-BY opened its stand at PURE London last weekend with the help of Harry Potter actress, Bonnie Wright and Georgia Groome, star of Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.

Both Bonnie and Georgia dig the ethical fashion and both turned out in Edun outfits, a MADE-BY partner brand. FYI: I was still very much of the impression that ethical clothing meant, expensive, not-cool clothing, turns out I was wrong x 1000. Check back soon for our TSM Ethical Fashion special.
