September 30th, 2009Girls On TopDid you see the pictures from last week’s Todd Lynn SS10 catwalk show? Did you see the seriously striking make-up look that the models were working? The look was the result of a Todd Lynn/Lisa Aldridge – No7 Creative Director collab and had me all swoony for smudgy eyes and nude lips.
In the fabu tutorial video above, Lisa Eldridge, No7 creative director, demonstrates how to get the edgy look, with smoky eyes and sculpted cheeks: “The look Todd and I have created has a very earthy and matte feel with splashes of modern shiny and luminous textures smudged around the eyes to give depth and intensity. I’ve finished the eyes with a light touch of No7 Extravagant Lashes Mascara and smudgy kohl using No7’s Amazing Eyes Pencil.â€
The prodz you’ll need to get the seriously sassy, fiercely fashionable look for yo’self…

No7 Extravagant Lashes Mascara, £12

No7 Amazing Eyes Liner in Brown £7.50

No7 Natural blush cheek colour in honey £9.10

No7 Essentials Palette in Stone £14.50

Is love really more important than lip gloss?
It’s a tough call, right? Especially if we’re talking about a Lancome Juicy Tube – I blimmin’ love them.
Hannah Atkins – the girl most likely to be sporting streaky fake tan and a wobbly trail of liquid eyeliner – has bluffed her way into the position of beauty editor at “Gloss” magazine. Just as she’s carving a path into the gorgeous world of guerrilla air kisses, she reads about her boyfriend and another girl in the gossip pages of the local newspaper. Then she gets dumped. By text. Vowing to claw back some dignity and make her ex regret what he’s done, Hannah adopts some hardcore rules – look fabulous, act fabulous, steer clear of unsuitable men. But as her resolution starts to slip away, she finds herself having to decide on more important things than the perfect mascara.
Air Kisses is the ultimate feel-good read about life, love and lipstick.
I was intro’d to author-girl and former Cosmo beauty editor, Zoe Foster by the super fabu Sassi Sam and she’s now my idol-girl. Not only because she’s written one of the best chick-lit books I’ve ever read – this book is HILARIOUS – she’s ed-girl of Primped and is also my official single-girl life coach – read on for Zoe’s insight on beauty, positive selfishness and jazzercise leotards…

Where do I go to get my fix of all things swoonsville?

This is the blogginz of my gorgeously glam, snail mail gal-pal, Miss Twist. Not only does she send the BEST mailage – thanks g-friend – she’s the Queen of cute de-voom ensembles, cupcake baking and her ability to create a half moon manicure will make you wish you had her on speed dial as your BFF.
Her Sassy List is suitably swoony too, Miss Twist – I heart you!

This week I celebrated three years of being single – and fabulous in a red silk dress, no less – in Pacha, Ibiza to the sounds of Basement Jaxx DJ-ing. Now I have no trouble being single, I confess that I very much enjoy it, but people often ask me ‘why?’, ‘how’ and ‘what are you doing wrong?’ every time a seeing-someone/ fling doesn’t turn into a relationship.
Now, I already know that it is sod all yet everything to do with me. I’m not hung-up on finding ‘the one’ yet I’m the biggest secret romantic you’re likely to find – I’m still incredibly distraught about Katie and Peter.

I take props from the gorgeously glam girls of yester-year on a daily basis – Marilyn, Elizabeth, Joan, Audrey, Jayne – they’re my inspir-o-girls, because damn it, those girls knew what being sassy was really about, and if you don’t believe me, just ask international authority on fashion history, Caroline Cox author of the beyond bee-you-tiful book How to Be Adored: A Girl’s Guide to Hollywood Glamour.

I love fashion, but as a girl who works voluptuous curves, London Fashion Week sometimes bores me.
There, I said it.
Stick-thin model after stick-thin model take to the catwalks and while I can appreciate the awesome creativity of the designers, I’m never inspired to want to work an outfit worn by a size zero* model.Enter: Mark Fast.

Unless you’ve been under a rock since April, I’m guessing you’ve heard the buzz about the new No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum, right? It’s magic in a bottle. No really, it is.
I love, love, love trying new prodz and as No7 Protect and Perfect Intense is hailed as the gold standard in skincare, I thought it would be rude and wrong not to treat my face to such an anti-ageing treat. Brimming with skin-loving good stuff, it’s got a rich texture and a super-silky feel – so far so fabulous…
Now, I pride myself on my Dita/Kelly O pale skin and avoid the sun at all times, but despite my avid wrinkle avoidance, I laugh A LOT and laughing rudely can cause fine lines, this prod has an intensive wrinkle-fighting action and d’ya know what? It only blimmin’ works. Fo’ real. I saw an improvement almost instantly – this serum brightens and re-energises skin and I got three compliments the very first day I applied it, and as a compliment collector, anything that encourages the flow of compliments my way, gets a big thumbs up from me!

My name is Lisa and I’m a Krispy Kreme-aholic.There, I’ve said it, and do you know what? I don’t care who knows it, because these sticky treats of goodness make me very happy, especially when I buy them from the London Waterloo station shop, because the dude behind the counter gives me a li’l wink and is very easy on the eye.
Krispy Kreme is like the gift that keeps giving because between the 31st August to the 11th October they’ve gone Americano – bringing America’s finest flavours to the UK – god bless America!
Yep, you can choose between the East Coast favourite, Key Lime Pie; a classic doughnut with a lime filling dipped in glaze and topped with crumbly biscuit pieces or the Rocky Road; born from the king of ice creams this chocolate cake is glazed with a thick chocolate coating, topped with mini marshmallows and crushed biscuit, drizzled with caramel sauce.
Choose your favourite or declare yourself Americano for the day and buy both – I think you know what I plan to do!
£1.45 each, available in all Krispy Kreme stores.

I have been awaiting the arrival of this book for the longest time, because really, there is no one more fabulous to talk about fabulosity than a Jewish Princess, this is a fact. I like to think of myself as a Jewish Princess – I’m not one, but I really, really want to be one – I use the term ‘oyy oy oy’ and ’schmuck’ as part of my daily vocab and think I’m pretty darn fabulous which, as you’ll find out in the book, are prerequisites to being a Jewish princess – wohhooo, I’m well on my way!
