Now, I’m currently on a dating detox inspired by Gemma Burgess’ book – and life without the stressy messy-ness of dating has freed up a lot of time to be creative, hang with my gal-pals and get kick-ass at being awesome all on my own, but this does not mean I’m not allowed a celeb crush, and mine is the unbelievably hot, Sean Lennon…yummerz.

How freakin’ awesome is this picture? Mystic Medusa featured it on her site this week and I fell head over Westwood heels in love. This is actually how my life should be. I absolutely SHOULD be Cleopatra-like, rocking a head dress in a bath o’ milk surrounded by candles looking all seductive and stuff. Universe, are you listening?

One of my most favourite boys in the world is currently riding round America in a truck and recently stopped off at my ‘need-to-go-to-before-I-die’ locale, The Madonna Inn, California and to show his love, he nicked me a pink Madonna Inn napkin, I am BEYOND excited about it. I don’t know about you, but I am all about the Easter weekend – new beginnings, the birth of springtime and food. Why is it, chocolate tastes a little bit more amazing when it’s hollow and egg shaped? Its one of the only times that I don’t feel guilty for eating chocolate for breakfast, and cake for afternoon tea. Talking of afternoon tea, last weekend, I went to the fabulous Covent Garden hotel for a stack of fancies such as pink champagne, scones with cream, toffee choux buns and chocolate dipped strawberries for my Grandma’s birthday. As well as being a delicious day out, it reminded me how I’ve always wanted a little cafe haven, with dozens of cakes and a retro cocktail bar with some knickers chucked in. Although the pennies don’t allow it, it doesn’t mean I can’t start small with these fabulous cake stands from www.pinksandgreen.com. They are pure retro housewife heaven.

Talking of new things, my inbox is being inundated with new swimwear ranges this week - reviews coming later on Sassy - and whilst I am finding it a little bit hard to comprehend getting into one after Easter weekend, I have spotted my dream bikini. The new Agent Provocateur, AmyLee tie side, is a lil' bit St-Tropez and a lil' bit trailer trash, and with the gorgeous retro travel print its adorable and dream-worthy!

Something else that keeps catching my eye, are the dresses on the Simply Be advert. Apologies for the teeny picture above, but the peacock print maxi dress is not only an excellent homage to vintage Matthew Williamson, it makes me want to get my gold bangles and jewel coloured MAC eyeshadow and flail around a field hippy style.

I spoke last week about building a photo collage wall, for my new flat. I love to look through Taschen books, particularly their photography collections and as my collage wall is about empowerment and inspiration, I have been flicking through Richard Kern’s ‘Action!‘ which is about unpretentious, unadorned women.

Finally, I have been stopped three times this week, by fellow minxes cooing over my nail colour. Tropical Temptation, by Revlon, is a punchy pinky-orange with a touch of the fluorescents about it. And its not too expensive-available here at Superdrug, where Revlon are two for £8.00, right now!

When I first moved to Hong Kong, I started to work with some amazing Chinese girls, who giggled at my funny English ways and one of them, an amazing illustrator and designer called Mei Mei Man, always went out of her way to make me feel welcome. We bonded over our love for The Virgin Suicides, vintage clothing and a love of the french language – both of us couldn’t speak it very well, but we tried! I’ve included her self portrait above, and one of her illustrations below – go to her wonderful website for more. She’s studying in France, where she will attend art school…

I left Hong Kong to study abroad in France, Nantes. It was, and still is, my dream. I gave up to work for fashion industry because I know it can’t satisfy my creativity-I want to create so many different things. I needed to leave my birth place of Hong Kong for my inspiration. I want to go to England, Germany, Spain and Italy travelling. But I chose France, because It’s cheaper for me…haha…$$$ I am sure Paris is the best place for art, and also the $ problem, I choose to stay in Nantes. Overall France is, the better place for art than Hong Kong!

Everyone can inspire me. When he is singing a song, when she is crying, when she is laughing, when he is talking with me….

Ohmyfreakin’stars! Now, you can call me a bandwagon jumpin’ minx if you like, but d’ya know what? I don’t even care because I could not have loved the book Eat, Pray, Love more if I had tried. I laughed, cried and at times felt it was a li’l too close for comfort, which is why I am doing star-jumps that the film trailer has just been released – I get a sense that I might be a teensy bit disappointed and I’m not entirely sure that Julia Roberts would be my Elizabeth Gilbert, but that said, I will deffo be front of the queue on release day for this…

This weekend is the Spring Equinox and I am lovin’ the idea of a li’l bit o’ spring-like goodness – spring makes me flirty-skirty and want to kiss in the sunshine, it makes me want to skip along the road and smile lots…I heart spring.

Yes you CAN.

This may seem like an unusual thing to love, but I think it is a really positive thing that the government, have invested money into a campaign about abuse in teenage relationships. It’s not something I’ve talked about often, but when I was 17 I was involved in a somewhat violent relationship for four years. It made me the person I am today, but I think if I’d seen something that played out both sides of that relationship – such as the different scenarios in this advert, it would have made me, and him, think at the time rather than just accepting the destructive behaviour. Awareness is so important and the way it is being tackled in the campaign is sensitive yet realistic.

On a lighter note, the beau and I are flat hunting, and whilst he is working out the council tax and the more, uhm, economic side of things, I am mentally decorating already. I am not allowed to unleash myself upon Graham and Green, so I am looking at the cheaper-yet-more creative idea, of having a full lounge wall of framed pictures-images of provocation and beauty, such as the one of Brigitte Bardot above. I love looking at these sort of pictures, they inspired me so much as a designer, and I have been searching for a good print of a Helmut Newton to join my collection!

Finally, the days are getting sunnier and I feel it is time to bring out the sunnies! Ms L and I are all for the cracking out the pink Dior and vintage Jeepers Peepers respectively. These Gaga sunglasses are over-sized squares at an undersized price, just £10.00 at laden.co.uk. A la parfait!
