Well who doesn’t? In fact, we here at The Sassy Minx heart all the ‘I Heart..’ books, but that might just be because we are more than a little biased. One of our dearest friends and NY hook-ups, Lindsey Kelk, has her third book released on July 9th, and as I can promise you its a goodun’, because I can’t stop reading it!
We’ve already been on Angela’s adventures in NY and Hollywood, and now she is in Paris…
Angela is in the city of love – but romance is taking a nose-dive…When Angela Clark’s boyfriend Alex suggests a trip to Paris at the same time as hip fashion mag Belle asks her to write a piece, she jumps at the chance.
But even as she’s falling for the joie de vivre of Paris, someone’s conspiring to sabotage her big break. And when she spots Alex having a tête-à-tête with his ex in a local bar, Angela’s dreams of Parisian passion all start crashing down around her.
With London and her old life only a train journey away, Angela can’t decide if should stay and face the music or run away home…

She’s only worked 7 weeks in the past 9 months, so in a bid to create an income, she has set up the Cherry Picked Pop Up Pamper Parlour with only five pounds in her bank account, a bunch of fabulous friends and experience and skills gained through studies, travel and previous jobs…
The Cherry Picked Pop Up Pamper Parlour will give you the chance to get fruity for a cheap-but-most-definitely-chic pop up event at Anexo in Turnmill Street, London at 7.00pm on the 30th June 2010.

Sometimes in life there are things that I wish I didn’t have to do.
Washing-up. Hoovering. Anything domesticated, actually. And shaving/waxing/plucking/epilating. Because both are never ending. Now, I can’t save anyone from doing the cleaning. But hairfree and carefree, I can. The Lumenis Lighsheer Duet is a revolution in hair removal and can zap your hair away FOREVER in fifteen minutes and four-six sessions. It can be used anywhere-face, bikini, armpits or legs, and it is pain free, super safe (it has a chilltip which protects the top layer of your skin) and works on any skin tone. Talking of skin tone, they can also use their amazing IPL technology to zap thread veins, scars and acne so its all just a little bit magical.

With super star fans like Cameron Diaz, Britney, Salma Hayek, its the newest thing on the block in the world of beauty, and its not that expensive either!Find out more at skinandhealth.com

June 25th, 2010All you need is love...AIMEE IS LOVIN’

The new Dolce and Gabanna 2010 Fall campaign. Imagine being caught in the middle of this rabble. That is all.
In line with D&G, Leopard print and pencil skirts form a huge part of my wardrobe, so I was just a lil’ but excited at the combo I found on ASOS this week. Its so wiggle/bombshell that even though I’m trying to be a good girl and save, I just can’t resist this at 30.00, especially when there is free delivery at the moment!
We have been a fan of Roxie Sweetheart, for quite a while, and this week she has launched her new jewellery range. She has combined her beautiful illustrations with acrylic, and my favourites are the Ocean Ring, 8.00 in the crystal box, and the Roxie Girl silver acrylic chain, 8.00. I’m sure you will agree they are great for gifts, or to treat yourself with something cute AND quirky?!
Those clever people at Durex are often surprising us with their uhm, wares, and the new Deluxe range of condoms is no exception. Deluxe is the daddy-o of johnnies, and the reason I say this is that they are the thinnest ever condom, meaning your man feels more of you and less of it. Its definitely one for the boys, as it comes in a circular foil case, the right side up, giving you both some confidence and is made from polyurethane so you feel the heat. Sassy and Sorted!
This weather is gorgeous for topping up my Ibiza tan, and it means we all get to enjoy being outside too. This weekend will be a mix of super chilling and sitting drinking Pimms in the sun. Its a little bit good for you too-the Vitamin E from the sun, and the vitamins from the fruit in the Pimms, and you are counter balancing the alcohol, right?Slap on the sun protection and have a great weekend! x

Lisa is not your average flow-y skirt wearing, crystal ball-toting type of psychic. Lisa is new school, she’s punk rock psychic – don’tcha just love that?!!
In her eyes, being psychic isn’t about dazzling others with your skills or using parlour game-type tricks to entertain others, her punk rock life philosophy simply consists of the following: 1) Show up in life as the real you 2) Work to make the world a better place for everyone.
I love her. You will too.

This feature on one of my favourite websites: Yes and Yes. Go read it, it’s deffo kicked my butt.
I love nothing more than a li’l a bit of controversy and Indian author, Jaishree Misra, is the controversy go-to girl. Her first novel, based on the life of Rani Lakshimibai and set in 19th Century British India, was banned by the Uttar Pradesh state government in India, where there were riots to protest at the book, and an effigy of Jaishree was burned in the streets. For real. Her latest novel, Secrets and Sins is a love story as well as a study of infidelity and has a Bollywood theme.
While at university, Riva Singh and Aman Khan had a passionate love affair. Despite their attraction, Riva rejected Aman for reliable Ben, who became her husband. Now Riva is a bestselling novelist and Aman is a Bollywood superstar. Seven years later, they are thrown together again at the Cannes film festival. Will they follow their heads or forsake everything they hold dear and follow their hearts?
LOVE. THIS. BOOK.

AIMEE IS LOVIN’

I blimmin’ LOVE this pictures from the ‘Jump’ exhibition, at the Lawrence Miller Gallery in NY. It features all sorts of famous people from Salvador Dali, Marilyn Monroe and even Richard Nixon, indulging in ‘Jumpology’ and has never been shown before. If you are heading to or are in Stateside, make sure you check them out, as the pictures by Philippe Halsman are only on display until July 1st.
I am dotty about this two piece from Ann Summers. Its retro with the nautical classic blue and red bow detail, and with a slick of red lipstick, its perfect for a spot of summer seduction. Bra and Knicker, 22.00/12.00 at AnnSummers.com

I didn’t end up going to the South of France last week, as the weather was so bad. However, I rebooked the night before and ended up in Ibiza, which was fab! I went to see Biffy Clyro and Bombay Bicycle Club at Ibiza Rocks, and had a (more) chilled Ibiza than ever before. I didn’t know much of Biffy before, but now I’m a complete convert- their band is so charismatic and rock ‘n’ roll-see pics above of them clamoring above the stage, and jumping into the pool! I also loved the lyrics, and this year I think Biffy, Friendly Fires, and my faves The Courteeners, will be the ones I listen to on my dock.
Well, I always knew I was onto a good thing, but apparently the fashion magazines have only just picked up that tea dresses are the summers hit. My wardrobe is full of them – vintage and high-street and they are pretty much my wardrobe staple. I blame it on having a fixation on old Hollywood movies. I have been a fan of Get Cutie prints for years, and this pretty bluebird printed dress, is something to dream for. Dress, 95.00 at www.getcutie.co.uk
Lastly, I am one of those girls that LOVES football, and I have had no choice- thanks, boi – to embrace the World Cup. I am excited to watch tonight’s match, but I hope we play better than last week – I forget how passionate and unfeminine I become when I am yelling at the TV! One thing though, and its an UN-LOVE – those blinkin’ horns sound like bees in my ears! -
June 17th, 2010Girls On TopIts always nice to get involved, and thats why we are big fans of Connected Generation, which tries to bring the latest trends together from the worlds of fashion, music and art. Not only this, you can snap away you and your friends creative looks and send them in-and Connected Generation will let you vote to pick which clothes they sell off the back of this. We caught up with Rachel Cosford, the createur!

Tell us more about what you do?
I started a new clothing brand and website connectedgeneration.co.uk which basically aims to get people who love fashion involved in the creative process. This could mean uploading pictures of trends they have spotted on the street, to voting for the designs they would like to see us put on sale. It’s all about interactive fashion!Who/what inspires you and why?
People generally are a great inspiration, I love just observing the different ways people wear clothes to make them their own. I find the whole calwalk to highstreet cycle very dictatorial, at Connected Generation we prefer to use street trends and real people as our inspiration. What do you love about being a woman in the world?
Getting my own way!

Where are your five must-go destinations for inspiration, life..?
Dalston Superstore & Trailer Trash are both good nights out in London with plenty of fashion spotting opportunities! Ibiza is also a must for great partying and also good for relaxing – Salinas beach is brilliant for people watching. Sundays in Brick Lane are also usually pretty interesting. Further afield the Far East is always inspiring. What has been your proudest moment so far?
Winning £10,000 first prize in the E-Factor competition for young entrepreneur’s which enabled me to kick start my business idea for Connected Generation.Which five tracks make your day?
Florence & the Machine – Rabbit Heart
Rihanna – Good Girl Gone Bad
La Roux – In For The Kill
The Streets – Original Pirate Material
I Compute – I Can’t Behave

What are your five must-have, can’t live without fashion and beauty items?
Origins – Pinch Your Cheeks
Collection 2000 – Volume Sensation Mascara
Topshop – Baxter Skinny Jeans
Primark – £2 plimsoll’s
Padded bra! What makes you jump-in-the-air happy?
Sundays at Space in Ibiza. What is your life Motto?.
If you don’t ask you don’t get!
What is next for you creatively?
To grow Connected Generation as a clothing brand and a fashion website. We are currently working on setting up a ‘fashion council’ basically a group of people that love fashion that we can consult and get their opinions. Ranging from general things such as what do they think are the big emerging trends of the season to more specific areas such as what print or colour do you prefer?
We also want to get as many people as possible uploading their “trend spotting” images to the website, this can then become a great free resource for everyone interested in seeing what other people are wearing around the country and eventually the globe, it’s a really exciting project!
