Minxes, take my hand and come on a trip to Scoopsville City.
Why?
Because I’ve hooked up with the radular Zoe Larkin, the designer-girl responsible for creating the ‘Blake’ brooch that become an iconic addition to the craziness that is Amy Winehouse’s beehive – I know, awesome, right?

I’m a li’l bit in love with all of Zoe’s Love From Hetty & Dave creations, but my totes favourite is the double sided personalised heart necklace – le sigh. I want it in pink with a silver chain and for it to say ‘Sassy’ on one side, and ‘Minx’ on the other – hot, non? All her creations are handmade and are perfect-o for rockin’ up a blazer, a girly dress or a big ‘do ala Miss Winehouse oh, and I’m a li’l bit in love with Zoe too, as we share a love for the same inspir-o girls, 1950’s tattoo designs and Frida Kahlo – come share in the awesomeness that is Love From Hetty & Dave…

First up – big apologies for the sporadic posting here at SM, but I’ve got a good excuse, honest…I’ve moved house!
Yep, hang the pink bunting, Sassy Minx HQ has a new pile o’ bricks – it’s a by-the-sea girly pad and while it’s not entirely pink and fabulous just yet, I’m channeling Martha Stewart – the domesticated goddess Martha, not the fraud/prison dwelling Martha – to make sure that it will be very, very soon, by making lists.
I am a list-making freak.
Fact.

I am a tattoo obsess-o-girl. There’s not an episode of LA Ink that I haven’t seen and Kat Von D is most deffo my home girl. I’ve got just the two – one on my foot and one on my wrist, and I heart them both equally, but truth be told, if I was less chicken, I’d be inked to within an inch of my life, ‘cept I am. Chicken that is. Which is why Corissa is now my new homegirl.
Corissa is the uber-talent behind Wicked Minky, a beyond-awesome online shop selling Corissa’s tattoo-inspired jewellery. If you’re not able to commit to permanent ink, then like me, you’ll do star-jumps and happy dances when you discovered this store – I want EVERY single item, but will settle for a day of the dead skull necklace, or an over-sized rose ring, or maybe a Daniel Day Lewis style moustache or…like I said, I want everything.

June 15th, 2009Beauty Queen, Life Candy, Passionista, Prod Love, Want. Need. Must Have.I was walking in my ‘hood yesterday in a Miami Vice meets Chanel ensemble – think stripe boat top, tulip mini and white linen jacket with gold pearl jewellery, with Ms L who was working a tattooed Heidi Seeker cardigan, black dress and pink hair foliage, when out of a passing car came “OI OI SWEETHEARTS!†Needless to say, we both laughed at this, uhm, gesture and agreed it was decidedly better than the unintelligible “AWIGHT!†that was shouted at us half-hour previously. We then broke into a Sex And The City style convo about the art of the chat-up, or to Americanise, the pick-up.

June 9th, 2009Prod LoveI was in Londinium yesterday, and let me tell you, it was HOT in the city and there was a tube strike and it was, well…pretty icksville. I’m not good in the heat, that’s why I live by the sea, but I had a meeting with a video camera at my publisher – please, don’t ask – and I needed prodz that would make my on-screen debut look like I embraced the summer and that sunshine was my friend…
Enter Boots No7.
Ahhhh, No7, how I love thee. Especially when you create prodz that make me look sun-kissed and summer-like and not a big sweaty mess – hurrah!

NEW FAVOURITE NAIL COLOUR ALERT: Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Fuschia Pink, 4ml, £6. OHMYSTARS, will you just look at it?! How purr-ity is it? I have it on now as I type, and just looking at my nails flick across the keyboard in their pink, shiny prettiness makes me happy. The colour goes with everything, it looks great with a tan and c’mon, do I really have to do the hard sale? It’s the prettiest shade of pink you’ll ever see! Well, until I find another obv., I am fickle after all!

I’m known for my Kelly O pale white glow, but unless you actually are Kelly O or Dita Von Teese, pale skin in the summer months can leave you looking a li’l washed out. Now, there’s no way I”ll ever expose myself to direct sunlight – hello? Wrinkles people, wrinkles – so I’ve got myself a sun-kissed glow with No7 Gel bronzer, 30ml, £13. It contains SPF 15, is oil free and provides a shimmering sheen of colour that can be used on your face, neck and décolletage and it smells pretty too!

If you prefer powder bronzers, the No7 Starfish Bronzer, £12.30 is ideal. Not only does the two tone compact has a super-cute starfish design, but it’s silky formulation is packed with vitamins to give you a beautiful healthy shimmer at the flick of a brush!

Without getting too icksville on your bee-hinds, whether you’re spending summer in the city or in an exotic locale, heat can cause all kinds of make-up slippage, and usually, in my case anyway, the first thing to go is mascara. Now, panda eyes are not a good look on anyone, well, except for pandas, obv. so I now avoid the post heat, under-eye smudge with No7 Extreme length Waterproof Mascara, 7ml, £11.80 and No7 Metallic Eye Pencils, £7.40. The mascara has a uniquely shaped brush that provides clump free, maximum length lashes and FYI: there really is no budging it, even on a hot tube with a million people trying to get home before the tube strike begins – it’s awesome!
Also, big props for the fantastic eye liners that come in turquoise and green, they’re waterproof too, so whether you’re in the city or poolside sipping cocktails – jeez, I know where I’d rather be – your peepers will stay pretty and smudge- free.
All prods are available from Boots stores nationwide and online at: www.boots.com

Li’l Miss Minx, I need to apologise. I am one of those people. Those easy-breezy super-cheery, spring-outta-bed-in-the-morning type people. But just so you know, even those people, have those days. The days when even a cute brown-eyed boy wearing guyliner, an entire vat of chocolate and a back-to-back Audrey movie marathon won’t shift the cloud o’ grey from above their head.
So, what’s a girl to do?

June 1st, 2009Prod Love, Want. Need. Must Have.
I live in a city that is all about the navy, sailor-boys and big boats, so I’m allsorts of excited that Bobbi Brown have intro’d a bee-you-tiful summer colour collection of pretty prodz that feel like they’ve been created for life right here in Portsmouth. It’s called ‘Nautical’, and combined, these new prodz will create flushed cheeks, juicy, sheer-coloured lips, and clean defined eyes, basically, everything a girl needs to make even the cutest sailor-boy throw you a wink!

May 14th, 2009Head Over Heels, Life Candy, Passionista, Prod Love, The Sassy List, Want. Need. Must Have.
At first I was unsure how on earth I was supposed to review In Bed With, a book of lightly erotic, yet ‘unashamedly sexy stories’ by some of the best female authors around, but that was just me being slightly immature and overtly aware of my prudishness. Because, lingerie designer or not, I find it a little difficult to talk the dirty talk whereas I’m old hand at walking the dirty walk – lingerie and heels, sil ‘vous plait. And, as a girl that reads on-the-go, it wasn’t exactly the kind of book that you would whip out on the bus when the front and back cover, ‘guarantee satisfaction.’However to put it in the politest way possible; the book WILL deliver satisfaction through a trousseau of quirky tales that will take you to my beloved London, romantic Paris, the farthest of American deserts where tumbleweeds roll, and beyond.

I’m currently searching for a suitably sassy pink pad that’s fit for a princess – me, obv.
Now, unfortunately, that’s proving quite difficult, but my wall candy? Well, that’s not a difficult decision at all, because I’ve already decided that I want absolutely everything from the Made by Girl shop o’ pretty. Simple as that.
Made By Girl Creator-girl, Jennifer Ramos, designs pretty, pretty prints and cards that will make your eyes happy, your heart full and your world just that li’l bit sweeter.
It’s a simple equation: Jennifer + creative tools, like, colouring pens, paints, a ‘puter = pretty prints that will make you smile. What’s not to love, exactly?
