Minxes, you’re in for a serious treat today, because I’m about to hook you up with a blogginz that you will fall head over KG heels in heart with. From Betsey With Love is total beauty in ‘puter form.
Fact.
Come meet Betsy, you will want her love. A lot.
So, what is From Betsy With Love exactly? Care to share?
From Betsy With Love with love is blog devoted to the pursuit of sensuous pleasure. It is very much a mixture of blog and magazine focusing on fashion, shopping, art and interior design with a unique retro, feminine, dreamy vibe. A one-stop shop for youthful, unconventional, individual woman! What made you set it up and what’s the inspiration for your entries?
I wanted to share the things that give me so much pleasure with other girls and woman. Encouraging woman to live a life full of pleasure in many different aspects of their lives.
Your blog is all about the pursuit of pleasure – love it – what people/places/items give you the most pleasure and why?
Christopher, the love of my life. I get pleasure by just by being around him, his smell, his sensuality. He senses and appreciates sides of me that not many people know. I love that he strives to understand me and to be a good companion.Frivolous things like style lingerie, stockings, people watching, velvet, pin ups, city nights, kissing, my little vanity table, perfume…
My collection of old, unique books. Browsing through the old pages with illustrations and photographs. Flea – markets: finding treasure after treasure! Ah love it!
Music: I love, love, love to sing and dance.
Our apartment. Christopher and I lived in with his parents for 2 years! Ok, his parents are very relaxed, we had a separate bathroom and a little living room bit still… It’s really important to me that I have a space of my own. I love turning it into a little cozy nest for the two of us.We love your taste in all things retro-fabulousness – please share your top vintage shopping destinations – pleeeaaseee??

Who are your style icons?
I don’t really have a fashion muse but I’m inspired by eccentric and glamorous women who aren’t formed by others or popular fashion but creative woman like Marlene Dietrich , Lisa Fonssagrives, The Marchesa Casati, Diana Vreeland… great style icons aren’t afraid of being ridiculed and they don’t take fashion to serious. That I love! What are your five must-have items?
Hmm I must have…
Ipod. Must have music!
Sunglasses
My Digital Camera
Books / Magazines
A good cup of thee
What era would you like to go back and visit and why?
Wow this is a hard question, do I really have to choose one?
I would love to spend some time with the social critics, nonconformists, and cultural rebels of the mid-50s American Rock & Roll scene. But I would also love to visit Vienna at the turn of the 20th century and spend some time with the members of the Vienna Art Nouveau movement like Gustav Klimt. The dark ages, Ancient China …
We love to visit new places – can you introduce us to your city? what would be your perfect way to spend a day there? what would you do? Where would you go?
I live in a lovely city: Hasselt – Belgium. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasselt) It’s a small but social city. I love living there because I can spend my time in the beautiful city center that has lot’s of cozy streets with bar’s, shops, restaurants and café’s but when I ride my bike for 5 minutes I’ll find myself in the middle of nature. Our apartment is located right next to the Albert Canal in the city centre. The perfect day would start there, I would take a walk along the water into the city center, visit some shops and have a nice lunch in a great Italian Café. Then take a walk in the Japanese Garden or pay a visit to the Fashion Museum. After that the perfect thing to do would be to eat a nice home made dinner on our terrace overlooking the city and if I’m still up for I would ride my bike to Den Teut (a vast area of heather fields) and watch the stars.
Who inspires you/who do you admire and why?
People who never stop asking themselves questions, improve themselves. People who take risks. People who get criticized but still follow their path and heart…What makes you jump-in-the-air happy?
Nothing very special really, just having the time to do the things I love, relax and spend time with the people I love. Actually there is one thing that would make me jump up in the air at the moment and that would be a little kitten! What’s your motto for life?
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.Quick fire round: What’s your favourite…

I love FBWL. It’s always such a treat for the eyes to visit her site! (but it can also be dangerous, from my credit cards’ point of view- she links to such great stores and designers that I always get tempted to spend a small fortune on…)
