How to eat like a hot chick

Now, I have never been one of those girls that’s obsessed with skinniness or Victoria Beckham’s ribcage, and I refuse to buy trash mags that tell me how to ‘get slim for summer’. Not only do they bore me, they just make me want to eat more, and I actually quite like my body despite the fact I have to pose in certain ways to make sure my bingo wings don’t actually look like bingo wings.Which is why I love How to Eat Like a Hot Chick – £6.99, HarperCollins. Frankly, this book was written for the Sassy Minxes of this world – irreverent and in-your-face, this is every hot chick’s guide to having your cake and eating it. Learn how to eat confidently, without any apologies, and still manage to look gorgeous.
I’m not interested in calorie counting and fat consumption, so the fact I was being advised to drink champagne (then eat spinach the next day), avoid rice cakes (yes! I knew it wasn’t just me that thought they were the most unsatisfying thing EVER!) and counting chips as one of the top five sexiest foods ever (baby, I am all about the salt n vinegar) was pretty damn satisfying to me.
There are also solutions to those problems that catch us out every now and then – PMS, holidays and flatmate trouble – I for one, am sure that I’m not the only gal in the land that has secretly thought to herself ‘please shut up’ whilst her homegirl is debating the conversion of homemade couscous to shop bought couscous – yawn.
And finally, I love their belief that we shouldn’t deny ourselves. As a girl that has, at certain points of her career, had to circle a model’s body for airbrushing on the PC, celebrity is just not the true way to live. In everyone of us, there’s a hot chick and its time we all started believing it, rather than aspiring to a so-called ‘perfect’ expectation – the most expensive diamonds in the world are the flawed ones, after all.
With this knowledge, I have just made the spinach soup from the book, and we ate it with soya and linseed bread in Miss L’s sunny garden with frozen Maltesers for dessert. Sassy Minxes eat, they enjoy it and they look fabulous. Fact.
