Miss LaLa’s Boudoir
4
June 4th, 2009Girls On Top, Passionista, Want. Need. Must Have.
I am all about wonderlands -and wanderlust – and one of my most magical places of wonder is Miss Lala’s Boudoir in Primrose Hill, London.
Not only is it one of my favourites, but celebs like Scarlett Johansson, Gwen Stefani and Kate Hudson have been known to explore the pretty, pretty Aladdins cave with their celeb-like fineness too.
I literally cant stop myself from grabbing silky knicks off the main table, touching up the cashmere cardigans – so Gina Lollobrigida! – and stroking the chiffon Ell & Cee high waisted knickers. It’s a trousseau of fantastical print, babydoll colours, amourous fabrics and rockin’ rhinestones, it truly makes me want to buy EVERYTHING and wear it all while lying on a chiase longue all day eating macaroons.
Come meet the fabulous Fine Rees, the creatrix and owner of all this beautiful loveliness…FYI: She is every bit as fabulous as you’re expecting – just read her inspir-o list and Miss La La Soundtrack listing. Le sigh.

Fine, I don’t think I can actually tell you how excited I get when I walk into Miss Lala’s Boudoir, but for those girls that haven’t experienced such joy, tell us about it…
Miss Lala’s Boudoir is a dedicated, retro inspired, glamourous lifestyle boutique for girls and women of any age who love to flaunt their femininity. We try to create a warm friendly and visually stimulating environment for an entertaining shopping experience.Your prods rock our world and we want ALL of them – is it hard to be creative and business-y? How do you find a balance?
It’s a daily struggle to get that balance right, I used to be an actress, so had no office skills and although we’re trying to create a fabulous, glamorous girly heaven for girls to shop in, the bottom line is, it has to make money. Sometimes there are products that I personally adore but that I don’t buy for the shop as not enough people will buy them. It’s important to keep going out and seeking new inspiration, looking at other window displays, in store merchandising and magazines also going to see films and to the theatre. If you spend every day in the office 9-5 your creativity will die.

Who/what inspires you and why?
Agent Provocateur were the original model for my business plan except everything in the brand that was geared towards men, I have geared towards women. But in essence a few things that inspired me are….
Mia Farrow in a cornfield
Joan Collins in a leopard print swimsuit
Bridget Bardot in gingham swimwear on the beaches on St Tropez
Rita Hayworth in a full length gown
Show girls any kind, any where
Cabaret performers
Elsie Schaperelli for inventing shocking pink
What has been your proudest moment so far?
Seeing Miss Lala Presents in Harvey Nichols, it featured in the in store display in Selfridges and we have our very own name plaque in Harrods. What 5 tracks would be essential to a Miss Lalas soundtrack to life?
1. Eartha Kit- My champagne taste
2. Bridget Bardot- Bubble gum
3. Doris Day- Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps
4. Nancy Sinatra- These boots are made for walkin’
5. Edith Piaf- milord
What are your must-have, can’t live without fashion and beauty items?

Kooky Timmy Woods’s bagsWhat makes you jump-in-the-air happy?

When the first set of samples from ‘Miss Lala presents’ come back from the factory. What’s your life motto?
