In these Shoes?

March 26th, 2009Life Candy, Want. Need. Must Have.
I love shoes.
The sharp curve on the heel of a MIU MIU shoe fills me with deep, deep lust and I love the new Vivienne Westwood for Melissa heels so much that I’m on the waiting list for a pair. The trouble with heels, I feel, is that I am 5’10†without them, and 6’1†when strapped in. Which is great if you’re a supermodel, or you’re Brook Shields in Lipstick Jungle – now she knows how to rock the heel – but not so great when you’re me and you tower over men in nightclubs, your friends are all 5ft 5 and you walk into street bollards, as they only reach mid-thigh.
However, for me, heels signify femininity. They possess power and sexuality, lending their beauty to the arch of my calf. Worn properly, they give great posture – head high, boobs out, bum and tum in, now wiggle. It’s no wonder Nicole Kidman got over Tom Cruise so quickly, she was finally able to strap on a pair of Louboutins and rock the red carpet. She gave hope to us all, by embracing her tall. Marilyn knew how to work them too, cutting off a cm from one heel to give her what became her signature wiggle. Va-Va-Voom.
In nightclubs and bars across the land, besides ‘he’s fit’ and ‘what do you want to drink?’ you will hear an excited squeal of “where did you get those shoes?!†Shoe envy is a glorious envy. We forego blisters and comfort for their beauty and we’ll buy that must-have pair even when we cant afford the rent this month.
So regardless of the fact I tower above a crowd, that boys’ eyes only meet my cleavage or that they are prone to causing epic tumbles – my last was in front of an ex beau, don’t worry, I had the grace to get up and work it like Naomi at Westwood – I will embrace my heels and my entire 6ft 1. fabulousness. I  will swivel on that four inch point, walk with my head held high and sway my hips from side to side – I am a Sassy Minx, after all.

Damn it and shazam it, I NEED these new platform chocolate brown t-bars from Office right now. Le sigh.
In Her Shoes is a feel-good chick-flick, based on Jennifer Weiner’s bestselling novel of the same name. Flirty, flaky, party girl Maggie (Diaz) and plain, dependable lawyer Rose (Collette) are sisters, best friends and bitter rivals who seem to have only two things in common: DNA and size 8 feet.
Even when you subject your feet to skyscraper heels, Scholl Party Feet Gel Cushions will ensure you can dance till dawn and don’t have to hobble home early. The ‘invisible’ gel cushions help prevent that burning pain you can get when wearing heels – hurrah!

Space NK have created this specially processed stainless steel file for removing hard skin from the heels and soles of the feet, making them totally touchable for when those cute boys fall at your killer heels.

Paint your pinkies in Rimmel’s 60 Seconds nail polish. 1 stroke, 1 coat, 1 minute drying time. Get fantastic colour & shine in just 60 Seconds – va-va-voom!
