I was in Londinium yesterday, and let me tell you, it was HOT in the city and there was a tube strike and it was, well…pretty icksville. I’m not good in the heat, that’s why I live by the sea, but I had a meeting with a video camera at my publisher – please, don’t ask – and I needed prodz that would make my on-screen debut look like I embraced the summer and that  sunshine was my friend…

    Enter Boots No7.

Ahhhh, No7, how I love thee. Especially when you create prodz that make me look sun-kissed and summer-like and not a big sweaty mess – hurrah!

NEW FAVOURITE NAIL COLOUR ALERT: Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Fuschia Pink, 4ml, £6. OHMYSTARS, will you just look at it?! How purr-ity is it? I have it on now as I type, and just looking at my nails flick across the keyboard in their pink, shiny prettiness makes me happy. The colour goes with everything, it looks great with a tan and c’mon, do I really have to do the hard sale? It’s the prettiest shade of pink you’ll ever see! Well, until I find another obv., I am fickle after all!

I’m known for my Kelly O pale white glow, but unless you actually are Kelly O or Dita Von Teese, pale skin in the summer months can leave you looking a li’l washed out. Now, there’s no way I”ll ever expose myself to direct sunlight  – hello? Wrinkles people, wrinkles – so I’ve got myself a sun-kissed glow with No7 Gel bronzer, 30ml, £13. It contains SPF 15, is oil free and provides a shimmering sheen of colour that can be used on your face, neck and décolletage and it smells pretty too!

If you prefer powder bronzers, the No7 Starfish Bronzer, £12.30 is ideal. Not only does the two tone compact has a super-cute starfish design, but it’s silky formulation is packed with vitamins to give you a beautiful healthy shimmer at the flick of a brush!

Without getting too icksville on your bee-hinds, whether you’re spending summer in the city or in an exotic locale, heat can cause all kinds of make-up slippage, and usually, in my case anyway, the first thing to go is mascara. Now, panda eyes are not a good look on anyone, well, except for pandas, obv. so I now avoid the post heat, under-eye smudge with No7 Extreme length Waterproof Mascara, 7ml, £11.80 and No7 Metallic Eye Pencils, £7.40. The mascara has a uniquely shaped brush that provides clump free, maximum length lashes and FYI: there really is no budging it, even on a hot tube with a million people trying to get home before the tube strike begins – it’s awesome!

Also, big props for the fantastic eye liners that come in turquoise and green, they’re waterproof too, so whether you’re in the city or poolside sipping cocktails – jeez, I know where I’d rather be – your peepers will stay pretty and smudge- free.
